Amon Duul II: Plays Phallus Dei(en)

Directed by German filmmaker Rüdiger Nüchtern, this behind-the-scenes rock documentary captures Amon Düül II, as the progressive rockers record their debut album, "Phallus Dei," in a Munich recording studio in 1968. Blending performance footage with a collection of psychedelic nature clips, Nüchtern's meditative film captures the true essence of the legendary krautrock collective. The movie premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival.

At designated places, they measure snowfall and take core samples of the snow and measure its weight and density. They also measure river currents in relation to the snowfall. The data is used by the U.S. Geological Survey to help determine how the water runoff in the spring will translate into supplies of fresh water.

Each fragment has its own accomplished presence, often has a different title from the film it was made for, which is not necessary to have seen in order to find meaning; on the contrary, those who set out thinking they know the world they are walking through will find themselves displaced.

In 2015, Christopher Nolan curated a selection of short films by the surrealist animators the Quay Brothers to be distributed as a touring 35mm presentation.
