David, coming to serenade her, sees the brother leave her window; thinking her false, casts her off, and she is too proud to tell him the truth. David, heartbroken, goes to a monastery to seek refuge from the world in seclusion. While there, he learns the truth. A great revulsion of feeling takes place in his heart. A mock sees his grief and begs him seek solace in painting a masterpiece for the altar. This he does, but is stricken to the heart. Gianetta on her way to church sees him weak and ill, crossing the plaza. She follows to his studio in the church. There they come to understand each other, but too late.

Soldiers looking for women to bring with them to a settlement across the ocean in Louisiana raid the brothel and take the girls, including Daphne. Later on the trip to the new world their ship is attacked by pirates--and she discovers that her lover Philip is on board the pirate ship.

Kill Me Later(en)

Her goldfish dead, her lover exposed as a rat, Shawn Holloway leaves her bank post and goes to the roof intent on suicide. Before she can leap, she's taken hostage by Charlie Anders, a fleeing bank robber. He and his partners have stolen a million in cash and plan to escape to Venezuela. Shawn agrees to cooperate if Charlie promises to kill her once he's in the clear. Parts of the plan go awry, so Charlie has time to try to pierce her bleak manner and self pity, and she has time for reflection. As night falls, their interlude ends: they're each alone, Charlie facing prison as the police close in, and Shawn staring down at a river from atop a high bridge.

The play written down by Al. Voznesensky for the stage, not in vain called by the author "drama without words", because its plot, indeed, does not require "words", although they had to be introduced in small quantities when the play was adapted for the screen.

Tommy, who is a bit of a hoyden, attends the party in overalls and shocks the guests. Tommy is later ejected from her home and takes refuge in a shack in the mountains, where she makes rustic furniture for a living. Despite the interference of Grace, Tommy and Harold finds happiness with each other.
