"If they were as rare as orchids we would probably rave about them" opens this film in the Secrets of Nature series, directed by the prolific Mary Field. The mesmerising time-lapse photography is offset by a jokey commentary voiced by EVH Emmett, then best known as the voice of the Gaumont newsreel. The flippant tone is exemplified by his comment on the range of responses to dandelions: "Some gardeners tear up the lawn and lay crazy paving, some tear up a high cliff and jump off".

In August 2018 I was interviewed on my roof by Jussi Penttinen, a Finnish devotee who in recent times has been responsible for collating and uploading the subtitles that appear in many different languages on my Youtube channel. Jussi filmed his questions separately while he was standing on the Arunachala pradakshina road. Film created from the Polish Educational Archive materials, telling the story of a matriarchal family through the eyes of a child grappling with the reproduction of ideological and representational systems. Originally created as didactic and propagandist tools in communist Poland, the footage is repurposed as a locus of auto-fictional memories, with their scientific register shifted towards a treatment of images themselves as specimens.
