That's how it's been ever since their mother mysteriously disappeared a year ago. But when their always absent parents start to arouse suspicion from the school principal, Mr. Moth, the four siblings devise a clever plan to avoid being discovered and sent to an orphanage: They will hire a housekeeper. When they choose the colorful Miss Nelly from Vollsmose - a male housekeeper in a skirt and high heels - the plan changes completely.

By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.
