A young writer brings a collection of short stories to a big Moscow publishing house. The manuscript stays at the office and mysteriously influences the lives of anyone who opens it and reads at least one page. There are four stories in the manuscript, and four readers whose lives are changed after reading them. The situations range from realistic to absurd to thrilling to create a rich portrait of life in contemporary Russia and showcase the thoughts, feelings and ambitions of people who live there.

Ruslan and Lyudmila. More Than a Fairy Tale(ru)

Ludmila – King Vladimir's beautiful daughter – has been known for her wayward and disobedient personality since she was a little child. For a very long time, Ludmila has been in love with a boy of her age – Ruslan, with whom she spends her carefree time and of marriage with whom she dreams. However, King Vladimir doesn't consider Ruslan worthy of his daughter's hand and wants to arrange her a marriage of convenience, with a more suitable groom. Ruslan and Ludmila will go through plenty of adventures, battles and magic in Chernomor's fairytale lands before they get hold of their right for love and happiness.

The magical beings bring their favorites together so they can compare their charms. However, they have no idea that this fateful meeting will cause Prince Dominik and Princess Budúr to fall in love.

A fairy tale for hearing-impaired children and their parents, performed by deaf actors in sign language. The deaf community has enjoyed significant support from Czech Television for many years thanks to interpreted programs and closed captioning. This year, the magazine Televizní klub neslyšících (Deaf Television Club) is celebrating its 35th anniversary. The creators of this club program have therefore decided to dedicate this year's final episode to deaf children and their parents. The result is the fairy tale Vánoční království (The Christmas Kingdom), performed by deaf actors in sign language, a fairy tale that is understandable not only to the hearing impaired, but thanks to dubbing, will appeal to all children. Above all, it shows that even hearing-impaired people have a sense of humor, are great actors, and can delight anyone who loves cheerful stories and a fairy-tale atmosphere. It shows that the worlds of the deaf and the hearing are closer than many of us think.
