Returning to familiar places evokes intense childhood memories in Stavros and a need to follow in his own footsteps. He was first placed in a boarding school where military discipline reigned. It was only his grandfather and grandmother, who had settled in Brno, who were able to replace his lost family background, and he in turn became their intermediary with the unknown Central European country and its people.
