A prison bus with over a dozen criminals on board has an accident and rams another car, in which Dr. Douglas Madsen was on his way home. Most of the prisoners die. Four of them survive, one of them severely injured. After having killed all the guards, they head for the woods. They take Dr. Douglas Madsen hostage. Suddenly a huge house appears in the middle of the woods. The leader of the group, Arthur, emphasizes that he will kill Douglas and every single member of the "family" if his wounded brother would die. Meanwhile some members of the family show strange behavior, and very soon mayhem breaks loose.

Through the daily lives, dreams, fears, and hopes of its citizens, Malas chronicles his hometown Quneitra in the Golan Heights between 1936, the year of the first revolts against the British and Zionists in Palestine until the year of the city's destruction. He seeks to exorcise a feeling of shame and humiliation that long accompanied the image of his father and also his town, occupied by Israelis in 1967.

This short documentary introduces us to the Massaro family of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and highlights some of the activities they partake in: roller hockey, drag-racing, flying, gymnastics, hunting, shooting, fishing... and even hand-making brooms. This film was made by students of the Thunder Bay Community Film/VTR project, a collaboration between the Challenge for Change< program and Town Talk, a citizen's group from the Lakehead.
