Faithful to the Lenin keepers of the museum as they can resist the onset of commercialization. The film tells about the modern life of this amazing museum-reserve and its employees.

A sample of the most relevant and characteristic aspects of traditional Navarran culture: carnivals, pilgrimages, crafts involving farm implements and tools, agricultural work, patron saint festivals, and other manifestations of rural society and folklore unfold over 150 minutes at the pace set by the seasons. The film is a reference document of prime importance on traditional Navarrese society, which was beginning to disappear in the years when the film was shot due to the rapid transformation of the region into an industrialized society. More than thirty years later, this process has been almost completely accomplished, giving the film a unique added historical value.

It draws parallels between the changing of the seasons and the cycle of the cattle industry that begins with animals being raised and cared for at a ranch and ends with them being sent to the abattoir grimly looming in the background. Let’s observe the unknown airport wildlife. When rabbits and foxes play a role in the airport's ecosystem and are protected by scientists, others could be a threat to aircraft safety. This is the story of Goupil, the airport's official fox and rabbit controller. With a hundred of his fellow foxes, he is in charge of controlling the 20,000 rabbits that invade the airport's lawn and sometimes get sucked into the engines, thus endangering the planes and their passengers. Given that each female rabbit can give birth to 1848 young rabbits during her 9 years of life, Goupil fears neither famine nor unemployment. But many other animals threaten the safety of the planes: birds of various sizes and species, sedentary or migratory, bats, and even hares and boars. Will Goupil manage to accomplish his mission?

This pioneering documentary film depicts the lives of the indigenous Inuit people of Canada's northern Quebec region. Although the production contains some fictional elements, it vividly shows how its resourceful subjects survive in such a harsh climate, revealing how they construct their igloo homes and find food by hunting and fishing. The film also captures the beautiful, if unforgiving, frozen landscape of the Great White North, far removed from conventional civilization.

Jack Kerouac's Road: A Franco-American Odyssey(fr)

An urgent and powerful documentary, shot in a detention centre where asylum seekers trying to reach Australian shores are indefinitely detained. Secretly shot on a mobile phone by Iranian journalist Behrouz Boochani while detained on Manus, in Papua New Guinea, the film is a collaboration with Dutch-Iranian filmmaker Arash Kamali Sarvestani. Boochani recounts, via the testimonies of fellow inmates, the abuse and violence inflicted and the precarious state of limbo they find themselves in. Chauka, the name of the dreaded solitary confinement unit within the detention centre, was originally the name of a beautiful bird and symbol of the Manus Island. By interweaving dialogue with two Manusian men and shots of daily life on the island, the film gives a much-needed voice to Manus inhabitants, understandably distressed by the current situation. With marked restraint, the film exposes lives broken by shocking immigration policies.
