Avanti falls in love with Marya, daughter of the Prince of Wisdom, the head of the Martians. Egghead is thrown out, then sees the bad guy using the lamp; Egghead breaks in, steals the lamp and the girl, and flies off. But she uses the lamp herself to conjure up a real hunk to replace the nerdy Egghead.

Scott's writings reveal that the British made it to the South Pole, only to find that the Norwegians had gotten there first.
