Strikeforce: Payback was a mixed martial arts event held on October 3, 2008. The event was produced by Strikeforce and took place at the Broomfield Events Center in Broomfield, Colorado. It marks the first time Strikeforce has held an event in Colorado and the main event featured a rematch between Duane Ludwig and Sammy Morgan.

The event aired live on the Versus Network. WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres successfully defended his title again against Manny Tapia in the main event of the evening. In addition, former IFL standout Wagnney Fabiano made his WEC debut on this card. The Mark Munoz-Ricardo Barros fight was the final light heavyweight bout to be put on by the WEC. The division was absorbed into the UFC following this event. The event drew an estimated 671,000 viewers on Versus.

UFC lightweight Kenny Florian acted as a special guest color commentator. Eddie Wineland was expected to face Frank Gomez at the event, but was forced off the card with an injury and replaced by Noah Thomas. Rich Crunkilton was expected to face Donald Cerrone at the event, but was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by James Krause. The event drew an estimated 1,300,000 viewers on Versus.
