The event aired live on the Versus Network. The main event featured the WEC Welterweight title fight between champion, Carlos Condit, and challenger, Brock Larson. The show also featured the U.S. debut of PRIDE veteran Paulo Filho as he fought Joe Doerksen for the vacant WEC Middleweight title.
Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Thomson was a mixed martial arts event promoted by Strikeforce. The event took place at the HP Pavilion at San Jose in San Jose, California on Friday, June 27, 2008. The main event was the long awaited match between lightweights Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson for the Strikeforce Lightweight title.
Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Le was a mixed martial arts event co-promoted by Strikeforce and EliteXC. The event took place on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The main card aired live on the Showtime premium cable channel. The event originally featured the anticipated Gilbert Melendez vs. Josh Thomson, but it was called off because Thomson injured himself training. Nick Diaz was also scheduled to fight but was pulled from the card due to undisclosed reasons. Referees assigned for the event were Mario Yamasaki, Herb Dean and Jon Schorle.
Volume 7 documented the year that the AND1 Mixtape Tour really took off. Every game was played in NBA arenas and the best local talent was found in the Open Runs. Volume 7 was the year that Grayson Boucher AKA The Professor was found in the Portland, Oregon Open Run. The Professor went through all the stops on the tour before being named the winner and newest member of the AND1 team. Former AND1 player Dennis Chism AKA Spyda and current player John Humphrey AKA Helicopter were the other two finalists along with The Professor. Tony Jones AKA Go Get It also had some highlights on this tape as he played on the opposing team and was eventually offered a spot on the team. Volume 6 toured Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York City. The tape introduced former AND1 player and New York streetball legend Tyrone "Alimoe" Evans AKA The Black Widow. The 6'8" Alimoe impressed people with his fancy ball handling moves as well as his slam dunks. This tape also introduced Troy "Escalade" Jackson and was the year he got signed to the AND1 Team.
Volume 5 was the re-introduction of Rafer Alston AKA Skip 2 My Lou. Alston had been playing Division I basketball at Fresno State University and had been trying out for pro teams throughout the past three years; Volume 5 marked his return.

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine was a mixed martial arts event held by Strikeforce. The event took place on January 7, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beginning with this event, the preliminary matches aired live on the Showtime Extreme channel prior to the main card airing on Showtime. Miesha Tate was expected to defend her Women's Bantamweight Championship against Sarah Kaufman on this card, but the bout never materialized. Luke Rockhold was expected to fight Tim Kennedy, though an injury left Kennedy unable to compete at this event. Bobby Green was originally scheduled to face Alonzo Martinez, but had to withdraw due to an injury.
UFC on FX 2: Alves vs. Kampmann was a mixed martial arts event held live by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday March 3, 2012 at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. The event also made history by playing host the first ever flyweight fights in UFC history as part of the semifinals for the Flyweight Tournament, the winner of which would be crowned the inaugural UFC Flyweight Champion.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey was a mixed martial arts event that was held by Strikeforce. It took place on March 3, 2012 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The event was the second that the organization had hosted in the state of Ohio and coincided with the Arnold Sports Festival, which annually draws up to 150,000 sports fans.
