They are helped in their activities by the Polish resistance movement, which includes a young photographer, Henryk Szalczyński (Michał Matela), who develops photos for forged documents.

When it finally retired in 1959, it had served for a total of twenty one years and had built up a reputation as a tough and reliable workhorse.

As each character descends upon The Spotted Dog pub, chaos ensues as things are not as they seem and each resident learns that extra bit more about each other throughout the course of the night.
