Shanta's mom, Parvati, falls seriously ill so much so that Sunil returns home, promises to wed her daughter, and she passes away. Sunil returns to the city to continue and finish his studies. After sometime he becomes a fully qualified doctor and returns to the village to open his own dispensary. It is here that he will learn that Shanta is now married to the wealthiest man in the village, Lakshmipati, who is not only a widower, father of a deceased child, but also much older than Shanta. Watch what happens when an embittered Sunil confronts Shanta to find out why she betrayed him and their promise to her late mom.

Then Vijay's girlfriend, Sapna, finds evidence that it was someone else who was responsible for these killings. Vijay agrees to represent Abbas, find the real culprit(s), and ensure that the sentence is overturned. Before that could happen, Vijay is himself arrested for killing a woman by the name of Neena, thus making Abbas' hanging a certainty.

Vishal (Rishi Kapoor) comes from a wealthy Hindu family. His father is well known Chandraprakash Singh (Amrish Puri), and his mom is a housewife, Sharda (Asha Parekh). While Ruby's dad (Alok Nath) approves of the marriage, Chandraprakash does not, and will not even hear of his son marrying someone not of equal status in wealth, leave alone a different religion. He is all the more enraged when he learns that Vishal is not really his son.
