The Stitch(hi)

The film takes us into the life of a nine- year old girl, who takes respite in drawing despite the fact that to fulfil her little aspirations like going to school, she has to navigate difficult geographical terrains and occasionally a curfew or a crossfire. By zooming into the microcosm of the girl's life, this short film endeavors to portray the larger story of Kashmir and the negotiations the people in any contested territory have to make in order to deal with the fissures in their geographical and personal identities. As a conscious act of resistance against the infidelity of language, there are no dialogues in the film.

Kya Dilli Kya Lahore(hi)

In 1948, a cross-fire erupts at an isolated stretch of Indo-Pak border, leaving only two soldiers alive. One is an Indian soldier of Pakistani origin while the other happens to be a Pakistani soldier of Indian origin. An ironic story of pride and survival begins when - in an attempt to evade danger, they bump into each other. And amidst continuous exchange of bullets, altercations and murkier situations, it evolves into a journey of human connection with an unforeseeable end.

A man wants to get the Amazons gold treasure, and his search for it will break the jungle man's quiet, but also put him in contact with beautiful girls, and ultimately with his mother. Return is a methodical construction of the approach of an individual towards an unseen goal, which assumes metaphorical significance. Viola moves toward the camera/viewer, pausing every few steps to ring a bell, at which point he is momentarily thrust back to his starting place, and then advanced again. Finally reaching his destination, he is taken through all of the previous stages in a single instant and returned to the source of his journey.
