They are soon joined by Helen Cordes, who no longer wants to wear herself out in a psychiatric clinic. The three shrinks soon find themselves under psychological stress with patients and their own private lives.

Mother Wurster also "rents" the sleeping Traugott to a furniture store, which uses him to advertise mattresses in the shop window.
