For the Love(en)

For the Love was created by brothers Brendan and Todd Wells, documenting their endless adventure around the globe in search of whitewater and waterfalls. As expedition kayakers at heart, the brothers and their many friends explore rivers around the world that have never been descended before in a kayak and where few humans have ever set foot near. The film highlights the struggles and rewards of discovering these new rivers, as well as features elite paddlers in the sport pushing the limits of gravity and the human body. From hacking through the dense Ecuadorian jungle with machetes to strapping kayaks to the bottom of small Alaskan bush planes, these kayakers do what others wouldn't to explore the most difficult and remote whitewater in the world.

The Tsangaan people have lived ‘in the middle of nowhere’ since ancient times. Now, only one person remains to represent the entire nation. Word of the last Tsangaan reaches a young man in Tartu, who decides to venture into the unknown wilderness to find the final guardian of the vanishing people. Although at first, the young man feels like an outsider in the mystical world of the Tsangaan, he gradually discovers many layers within himself that connect him to this new environment. With each passing day, he grows closer to the last Tsangaan, leaving more and more of his previous life and identity behind. Reborn, the young man’s journey leads him to a place where he becomes the last person to have ever encountered a Tsangaan.

In 2008 the raft racing events spawned a new rush in the whitewater world. From 2008 to 2010 rafters in the Pacific Northwest ventured beyond the guidebooks and explored uncharted territory for rafts.

Catalan adventurer and elite kayaker Aniol Serrasolses shatters boundaries on his Arctic expedition to Norway when he descends a 20m-high ice waterfall - the largest ever recorded kayak drop from a glacial waterfall. He and his team have to voyage across the arctic circle to the Svalbard archipelago in Norway to search for the elusive and temporary waterfalls. Once there, they must climb the treacherous glacial cliffs and hike for kilometers over the ice shelf to access the glacial rivers which run over the frozen cliffs and fall from the huge heights into the sea.
