No matter what happens life has to go on. This is also a story of four couples and their lives in a metropolitan city. They belong to different social and financial strata and every one has got its own problems to deal with. What one couple has, the other doesn't?

Jeene Nahi Doonga(hi)

Bitter animosity and hatred has existed between the communities of Jangavar and Dilavar. While Dilavar's Roshan wants to bring peace between everyone, he sets an example by marrying Chandni. This enrages the Jangavars' who attack the Dilavars, killing Roshan. Before dying, Roshan asks his twin brother, Raka, to promise that he will bring peace by getting their brother, Badal, married to Shaka's sister, Reshma. Raka attempts to carry out his promise, by letting both meet and fall in love with each other. When the time comes for Badal to propose to Reshma, she accepts with one condition - that Badal kill Raka and bring his severed head to Jangavar. The question is will Badal sacrifice his brother's life to marry Reshma and bring peace between the two communities?

Arzoo(hi)

After completing his medical studies, Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) takes a break and goes on holiday in Kashmir. There he meets with Usha (Sadhana) and both fall in love with each other. Back home, Gopal has a close friend, Ramesh (Feroze Khan), whose dad (Brahm Bhardwaj) wants him to marry Usha as an arranged marriage. Ramesh likes Usha and is willing to marry her. In the meantime, Gopal finds out that Ramesh is going to be married to Usha and decides not to pursue his romance with Usha. When Ramesh and Gopal's sister, Sarla (Nazima) convince Gopal that Usha only loves him, he reveals a dark secret to them, which may convince them that he is not right for Usha.

Chhoo Mantar(hi)

Baijnath alias Baiju is a slacker, trouble-maker, unemployed, and a flirt. The villagers rally together and force his father to ask him to leave the village, which Baiju does. Baiju's travels take him to the castle of a king, who has a beautiful daughter named Ratnavali. When he sees Ratnavali, he is smitten by her beauty and falls head over heels in love with her.

Khazanchi(hi)

Harish lives happily with his sister Geeta and his father Radhe Mohan. Radhe Mohan is the titular "khazanchi" (treasurer) at the Northern India Bank. Harish and Usha fall in love with each other. However, they face obstacles in their love life due to Usha's stepmother and Harish's father's death.

Amar G. Kapoor is an unemployed but talented youth who was born in Lahore, and is the grandson of renowned Lala Kedarnath. He re-locates to Delhi in search of employment as a singer/dancer, meets with Sangeeta, whose mom, Rukmini, owns and runs a post hotel, gets a job there, falls in love with Sangeeta, and much to the chagrin of Rukmini, both get married, and soon become parents of twins, Kiran and Jyoti. The marriage does not last long as minor issues bludgeon, leading to accusations that Amar is having an affair with the daughter of the hotel chef

Mithun Chakraborty plays a powerful and domineering priest who rules his temple and the surrounding village with an iron fist, all supposedly for the sake of religion. He becomes enamored with a prostitute (Sushmita Sen) from a local brothel and begins spending more and more time with her. But when the village postman (Anuj Sawhney) takes a liking to her as well, the priest is forced to deal with him and a growing village rebellion.

Finally reaching his destination, he is taken through all of the previous stages in a single instant and returned to the source of his journey.
