As the case progresses, Salim falls deeply in love with Handan Hanım, but when she rejects him, he turns his attention to Leyla, the blind wife of the prime suspect in the murder. But undoubtedly the strangest thing is that Salim's beloved mother is an elderly, blind prostitute. As events unfold, Salim becomes even more blinded.

While her son gambles about the playground, Riko and Sachiko exchange child-rearing war stories and soon become friends.
