Faust in the Underworld(fr)
The German legend of a scholar's unholy pact with the Devil would have been very familiar to most moviegoers (at least European ones), so Georges Méliès' early cinematic treatment likely got away with simply offering a fancifully illustrated late episode without the earlier narrative context (however, spoken narration provides some of the latter in this restored print). Tempted by Mephistopheles with all kinds of dancing and ethereal babes, Faust is at first excited and then terrified by the sight of various demons and monsters. The painted-set designers really went hog wild on this one, depicting the (sometimes sexy) torments of subterranean Hell with in bold terms (even when ballerinas prance in the foreground). Life of a Mutt(sr)
Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

PROGRESS Chapter 89: 26th May 1988(en)
Much like the infamous match between Bret Hart and Tom Magee, a piece of PROGRESS history has recently been uncovered. The former Progress announcer, Jimmy Barnett, has been sharing his memories of a show from May 26th, 1988. Last year he was kind enough to offer his recollections of a very early PROGRESS from way back in May of 1978 (PROGRESS even found the footage in their vault), and it's a rare treat to get details of another historical show from a man on the inside.
