Alice in Wonderland(en)

This is the first movie version of the famous story. Alice dozes in a garden, awakened by a dithering white rabbit in waistcoat with pocket watch. She follows him down a hole and finds herself in a hall of many doors.

Alice Through the Looking Glass(en)

A modern adaptation of the classic children's story 'Alice through the Looking Glass', which continued on from the popular 'Alice in Wonderland' story. This time Alice is played by the mother, who falls asleep while reading the the bedtime story to her daughter. Walking through the Looking Glass, Alice finds herself in Chessland, a magical and fun world. There she meets the Red and White Queens, as well as many other amusing friends on her journey across the chessboard countryside onto become a crowned queen.

She is warmly welcomed but soon realises that strange things are happening. She tries to escape but it seems there's no way out.

Malice in Wonderland(en)

A jet-propelled white rabbit flies through the vulva of a supine woman into a wonderland where people and objects turn inside out, changing shapes and identities at warp speed. Events roughly follow Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." The caterpillar and the queen make appearances, as does Alice. Images and symbols are often sexual. At the end, Alice asks, "Who has had such a curious dream?"

Alice in the Underworld: The Dark Märchen Show!!(ja)

Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" goes goth in Mari Terashima's screen adaptation of the children's classic. Terashima brings together Goth Loli performance troupe Rose de Reficul et Guiggles, doll maker Mari Shimizu and magician and actor-dwarf Mame Yamada (Blue Spring, 9 Souls) to create a macabre trip down the rabbit hole. The film appears animated, but the gothic characters are as real as can be.

She is led to a large house where the lines between dreams and memories become indistinguishable, as she struggles with her relationships, her obsession with perfection and her identity. Loosely inspired by the mythology of Leda and The Swan, it looks at the way women cope with trauma, questions the idea of self and takes you on a journey through one woman's psyche.

Betty falls asleep doing a jigsaw puzzle and finds herself through the looking glass into a modern, urban wonderland. The shrinking potion comes from a "Shrinkola" dispenser. When most of the characters assemble, Betty sings "How Do You Do" to them. But the jabberwock steals Betty away.

A girl who has a life she doesn't want, with no family present and no friends, receives a birthday present from her grandfather that will take her to a parallel dimension where she can take refuge. Happiness, anguish and loneliness await her behind the hands of an old clock. Already suffocated by her confinement, she receives one last present, a birthday cake. Blowing out the candles, she receives instructions on how to leave this dimension, but also how to enter new ones.
