Paint Job(en)
Daniel is a street painter. He just paints straight lines on the streets. Dotted, solid, white or yellow. Until Ruby, a strange wanderer enters his life and shows him the full palette of colors and shapes that he misses in his life.
bleared eyes of blue glass(xx)
The "bleared eyes of blue glass" in the title of this experimental short expand on a verbal image from Virginia Woolf's novel The Waves, considered the most experimental among the 20th-century British writer's literary works, from which the young filmmaker took inspiration for his film, borrowing passages and visions to explain his own understanding of what cinema is. A film that plays with water - precisely - and light, and yet in a very dark b&w lit up by rare flashes of colour, making a journey in the night in which the shadow of a man gradually acquires substance.
Rift(sv)
A girl disappears without a trace while playing hide and seek with her friend. The friend is asked to explain how it happened, but the adults around him find it hard to believe his story. With visual originality, the limits of existence are allowed to be stretched in a film that depicts the incomprehensible from a child’s perspective.
The Colour(en)
The old farmer Ammi tries to understand the traumatic loss of his friend, who died in a mysterious way. We follow him as he gets confronted by the demons of his past and he tries to overcome his fear.
Diptera and Lepidoptera(en)
Fully exercising the transformative potential of the close-up, Paul Clipson brings us face-to-face with the beguiling strangeness of a bee drawing nectar and a butterfly working its wings. The so-called "butterfly effect" (in which a single theoretical butterfly flapping its wings can result in a hurricane across the globe) seems freshly tangible after this installment of the COMPOUND EYES cycle. - Max Goldberg
Caridea and Ichthyes(en)
Where the other films in Paul Clipson's COMPOUND EYES cycle relate natural and constructed environments through cutting, the liquid CARIDEA AND ICHTHYES uses superimpositions to float various fish and crustaceans in a brilliant neon sea. Like TAXI DRIVER crossed with a Jean Painlevé film, CARIDEA AND ICHTHYES serves as a beautiful articulation of the essential fluidity of film projection. - Max Goldberg
Logistics(xx)
Logistics or Logistics Art Project is an experimental art film. At 51,420 minutes (857 hours or 35 days and 17 hours), it is the longest movie ever made. A 37 day-long road movie in the true sense of the meaning. The work is about Time and Consumption. It brings to the fore what is often forgotten in our digital, ostensibly fast-paced world: the slow, physical freight transportation that underpins our economic reality.
A Dark Place(en)
Myles navigates the tumultuous aftermath of a breakup, battling inner demons in a dark mental state.
Insomnia(en)
In the solitude of night, the veil of reality slips away to reveal our deepest fears.
Between You and You All(fr)
