The robbers were masked, but one of them had a tear in his shoe and another was wearing a locket, very similar to the one worn by his wife. Bhagat's inquiries take him to the northernmost hilly regions of India, where he must confront the past, as well as seek out the elusive killers and bring them to justice, not knowing that in so doing he will be endangering the life of his son.

Pitamber Kohli lives an upper middle class existence with his wife, & two brothers, Yeshwant and Pratap. The trio get in the bad books of an underworld don named Swami, who soon they launches a vendetta against them. Pratap joins the police force, and steps up his efforts to nab Swami at any cost, to no avail, and he ends up getting suspended from his duties. Then Swami makes his move – Pratap’s sister and brother-in-law are abducted and held at gunpoint. When Yeshwant goes to rescue them, he is gunned down. Now Pratap, the only remaining Kohli brother, is the only target of Swami. How Swami entraps Pratap, who will be quite helpless especially with his sister still a captive with Swami forms the crux of the story

Monica Kapoor lives a wealthy lifestyle in London, England. When she hears that her estranged brother, Kishan, has been killed while traveling in a train, she returns home to India and asks his much younger and drop dead gorgeous widow, Shobha, to move out so that she could sell the house, pick up the cash, return to London and get married to her boyfriend, Manoj. She does get to sell the house and compels Shobha to move in with Kishan's friend, Amar, but Manoj steals the cash and disappears. Humbled by this incident, Monica also moves in with Amar and Shobha, as well as Amar's younger brother, Chickoo, and ends up falling in love with Amar. She decides to marry him at the Registrar's Office. When he does not show, she returns home and finds him getting intimate with Shobha.
