Overview
Poker-faced comedian Jack Dee embarks on a two-week journey to one of the remotest and coldest places on Earth - Siberia. The first part of his chilly challenge is to learn basic survival skills while living with reindeer herders whose lifestyle has remained unchanged for hundreds of years.

In the year that follows, Ava survives the harsh Siberian winter and finds himself at home beyond civilized life, to the point where when Boris finally does find him, it is a very touching goodbye, since the two old friends have drifted apart and have to remain in their separate worlds

The Nganasan Shaman Demnime (1913-1980) was 64 years old at the time. The documentary about Demnime's incarnation ritual was completed 20 years later.
