3 ex-presidents of Brazil, 12 ex-ministers of State, 7 ex-governors of the Central Bank, bank owners and finance specialists tell the Brazilian economic history and speculate about the present and the future of the country. 125 years ago Brazil was a poor country with slavery. 60 years ago 50% of Brazilians were illiterate. 25 years ago inflation rate reached 84% a month and 35% of the population was extremely poor. In 2013, Brazil ranks the seventh world's largest economy, inflation reached 5,4% a year, poverty was reduced to 12% and the country is looking forward to be wealthy. Will it happen? Agile cutting, simple language and smart graphic arts allow the answer to this and other questions to be interesting and available to all audiences.

It is late 2004, and 34-year-old Englishman Alistair Appleton is about to fly from London to the Brazilian coast, where he will drink ayahuasca for the first time. With wit, insight, and sensitivity, Alistair shares this experience with us, and chats with some fellow participants before and after the ayahuasca ceremonies. For the past few years, Alistair had been working as a television presenter. In 2000, he started making trips to the Centre for World Peace and Health in Scotland to learn how to meditate. When clinical psychologist Silvia Polivoy opened an ayahuasca healing center in Bahia in 2004, Alistair faced his fears and seized the opportunity to attend.

He explains something of the onaya tradition, and how he came to drink the plant medicine ayahuasca under his father's tutelage. Arévalo leads an ayahuasca ceremony for Westerners, and shares with us something of his understanding of the plants and the onaya tradition.

"First we must heal our own souls, only then we can help others", is one of Father Galaktions core messages. He lives as a hermit on the holy mountain. Not all monks, however, live as secluded and demure as Father Galaktion. The film team is also received by Father Epiphanios - a gifted and poetic cook who certainly does not disdain the pleasures of life.

The older nuns teach the younger ones, transcending cultural boundaries. Every day, the sisters learn to live together a little better, always following the rules of Saint Benedict, whom they have followed into this cloistered life.

Amid the civil-military dictatorship implanted with the 1964 coup, Sergio Muniz had the idea of making a documentary about the action of the Death Squad. At the time, the press still had some freedom to disseminate the work of these death squads formed by police officers of various ranks, and that he acted on the outskirts of cities like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The victims of police repression (as today) were men, poor and black, and this condition is supposed criminals.
