IN SHORT is Blank Paper Studio´s current project released in the Fall of 2007. This 16mm/ Super 16mm DVD production follows a truly conceptual approach containing 5 different short films on one DVD, mixing formats, genres, personalities and directors. In the works since March 2006, it presents a flow of visual and conceptual diversity whose goal it is to be unpredictable and surprising at all times giving the viewer a different interpretation and look on Snowboarding and its protagonists in each of the films within the DVD. You Remind Me of Me is about the varying lives of girls who love to ride - surfboards, skateboards, snowboards - viewed through a kaleidoscope of separate experiences and insights.

First Descent(en)

First Descent is a 2005 documentary film about snowboarding and its beginning in the 1980s. The snowboarders featured in this movie (Shawn Farmer, Nick Perata, Terje Haakonsen, Hannah Teter and Shaun White with guest appearances from Travis Rice) represent three generations of snowboarders and the progress this young sport has made over the past two decades. Most of the movie was shot in Alaska.

In the early 2000's, David Vladyka and a handful of snowboarders discovered the Col de Cou, a major crossing point on the French-Swiss border used by smugglers after the Second World War. This area with its hilly terrain became a legendary place for freestyle snowboarding. 20 years later, Mat Schaer and David Vladyka still come back from time to time to film, but the immaculate slopes are becoming rare. The excitement of the great freestyle years has given way to the hikers. A new page is being turned.

WHO CARES - featuring Charles Reid, Darcy Sharpe, Ryan Paterson, Jamie Anderson, Dustin Craven, and friends is a snowboarding movie. over the 2018/19 winter season, the crew traveled from Whistler BC to Revelstoke ending in Alaska. Directed by Filmmaker Ryan Kenny and snowboarder Charles Reid. Enjoy.

The documentary follows a crew of snowboarders for six weeks in the Chugach mountains, and showcases what it takes to ride these unique Alaskan mountains: the waiting, the stress, the dangers, everything that goes into it and is usually never shown. It also retraces some of the history of this unknown discipline and pays tribute to the pioneers. But the film really focuses on the human aspect and why these people do what they do.

Travis Rice - Truffle Pigs(en)

Last winter, Travis Rice and Chris Rasman went deep into Alaska’s Tordillo Mountains. Their trip coincided with about five feet of fresh snow — which was followed up by about 100 MPH winds. This lead to long days of searching and even longer nights in the lodge, sipping exotic wines and contemplating fate or at least thinking about where, oh where, those pockets of good snow might be hiding. By the end of it, Travis and Chris started to feel like truffle pigs — animals known for their acute ability to find rare objects or situations. You know, like geographical oddities and good snow. In other words, they nailed it.

Learning to Splitboard the Northern Rockies(fr)

Splitboarding is a fast-growing sport for snowboarders who want to venture out of the resorts and into the backcountry. A splitboard is a snowboard that splits in half and allows the snowboarder to cross-country ski into the mountains. You then put the board back together and ride down. Snowboarding in the backcountry is an entirely different sport than snowboarding at a resort. A rider gets only a fraction of the runs because they have to earn every foot of ascent. But when taking on these extra challenges ones could be rewarded with the best deep-powder snowboarding that nature has to offer; you won't find these conditions at a ski resort. Alex Maier has been snowboarding his whole life, but that was in the midwest. When he moves to Montana he has to start from scratch, this series shows what it takes to get into the backcountry safely and effectively.
