In the middle of a broadcast about Typhoon Yolanda's initial impact, reporter Jiggy Manicad was faced with the reality that he no longer had communication with his station. They were, for all intents and purposes, stranded in Tacloban. With little option, and his crew started the six hour walk to Alto, where the closest broadcast antenna was to be found. Letting the world know what was happening to was a priority, but they were driven by the need to let their families and friends know they were all still alive. Along the way, they encountered residents and victims of the massive typhoon, and with each step it became increasingly clear just how devastating this storm was. This was a storm that was going to change lives.

Continuing our release of DVDs from Oscar-winning director Murray Lerner’s filming of the August 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival, we have Emerson Lake & Palmer’s The Birth Of A Band. It was ELP’s first proper live concert, their only previous gig having been a warm up in Plymouth the previous night. Playing in front of a record 600,000 people, at what remains the biggest festival in rock history, they became overnight stars. With a spectacular stage show that included real cannons being fired over the heads of the audience, they became overnight stars with the press raving about their virtuosity and daring. lntercut with the live footage from the show , this film also features brand new Interviews with Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer as well as their then manager John Gaydon and creates a vivid portrait of the birth o f a band. They would go on from here to become multi-million selling artists, but this unique film is there right at the beginning.

At loose ends, he encounters a drifter, Pink, who finds him work at his bar while Tsuchiya now devotes himself to becoming a “postcard craftsman” who submits material to a radio program. The entertainers on the program begin to use material from his postcards. A comedian Tsuchiya admires, one of a comic duo called “Bacon,” says on the air that he admires Tsuchiya’s material and that he wants “to do material together.” Dreaming of another chance, Tsuchiya heads for Tokyo.

Pvt. Ravel's Bolero, is a "filmic poem" and historical documentary about Maurice Ravel and his "Bolero" in WWI, years before he had composed it. Including facts and info about Ravel and WWI, it is structured around "Pvt. Ravel's Bolero" (2021), a poem by JZ Murdock. It is wrapped in WWI and the music of Maurice Ravel. It is narrated in French by a male voice actor playing the role of Narrator, Maurice Ravel and several other historical characters, in reading the English text presented on screen. A female voice actor reads the on screen poem as the truck which Ravel drove in WWI and named, "Adelaide", as well as speaking the voices a couple of other historical characters, also from reading the English text on screen. As this is a filmic poem/documentary, it displays scenes and information on screen from public domain filmed scenes, posters, paintings and photos of World War 1.
