Megane adopted a Shiba Inu dog named Mamenosuke after Mamenosuke's owner died. Mamenosuke grew up around cats so he actually thinks of himself as a cat.

Due to an ITV technicians' strike which took the network completely off the air for three months, the first two episodes were broadcast in 1979 and the remaining episodes were not aired until May 1980. Only six episodes were made.
