The Super Sentai Versus Series Theater (スーパー戦隊VSシリーズ劇場 Sūpā Sentai Bāsasu Shirīzu Gekijō) was a special event on TV Asahi during the run of Tensou Sentai Goseiger, airing an hour before. This show was a compilation of thirteen Super Sentai crossover movies in half-hour parts (from Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: Ole vs. Kakuranger through Juken Sentai Gekiranger vs. Boukenger) as well as Kyukyu Sentai GoGo-V the Movie: Sudden Shock! A New Warrior; all broken into half-hour parts (usually two-parts; Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai had three). The movies had commentary at the beginning and end by the Goseiger about the teams and the storylines within the movies and along with that, they also talk about what's coming up on their show.

The VARA TV series is made up of three parts in which the 'Circle of Life' of the Netherlands' most talked-about nature reserve, the Oostvaardersplassen, is central. Close to Amsterdam, in one of the world's most densely populated countries, on a piece of land that was under water forty years ago, a nature reserve of international allure has developed. A unique experiment is taking place here: nature is allowed to run its course. The result of this is an untouched piece of wilderness in the reclaimed Flevopolder. It differs from all other Dutch landscapes. Internationally, this piece of nature below sea level is rare. It is used worldwide as an example of the development of new visions of nature and the role of people in it. For many, this area is unknown, because most of it is not open to the public.

Its primary targeted audience is the Hispanic population living in the United States. The series begins with history teacher Nima Zande-Karimi (Siamak Ansari) realizing that his extensive research on Persian and world history is of little use to financing his day-to-day life. He is about to leave Tehran for good to go back to his hometown by the name of Darab, when he comes across young university student Roya Atabaki (Sahar Jafari-Jozani) who is researching for her final year dissertation, which is regarding the period 1198–1203, that is said to be a period of turmoil for Iran's ruling elite. Such turmoil that, very few books are available on that period for Roya's research. It is then that Nima receives an anonymous telephone call, which leads him to Niavaran Palace (currently a museum), where he is told to have a coffee and wait. The coffee (which is bitter) is ready and he duly drinks it, his sight becomes hazy, and when he manages to refocus he is in the year 1201 (1822 AD), and the story develops therein.
