Emin's video CV is an accompaniment to her work on paper, Tracey Emin CV 1995 (Tate T07632), which is a potted history of the artist's professional and emotional life from conception until 1995. This CV, read aloud by Emin, constitutes the sound-track to the video and provides contrasting background to the visual information on display. As Emin narrates her story of trauma and abuse, mixed with pleasure and success, the video takes the viewer on a journey through the artist's home. The artist is not visibly present in person until the last frames when she appears curled up naked on the floor of her sitting-room at the feet of her mother (who wears black sunglasses and looks away from both her daughter and the camera). Like Emin's handwritten CV, the video constitutes her self-portrait, in this instance adding the component of a journey around the space of her apartment to her narrating voice. -Tate

Fuku-chan's Submarine(ja)

Fuku-chan was one of the most popular newspaper comic strip boy-characters in Japan at the time. The film portrays a submarine attack on an enemy cargo ship. Though this, too, was to boost patriotism, Japanese children particularly enjoyed the scenes in which the kitchen crew cooked in the submarine kitchen. Released in November of the same year, the food shortage was quite serious in Japan, and the abundant food supply in the submarine kitchen -- vegetables, fruit, fish, rice, and more which were already luxury items in Japan at the time -- was prepared into various dishes along with a merry, rhythmic song.

On the other hand people have lost their faith since none of their wishes and requests have been fulfilled by the shrine. During this time the watchman leaves the village for some time and puts Ghodrat in charge of shrine works. Ghodrat has this gift to communicate with spirits of those buried in shrines garden. Being so simple he spends all the belongings and the money of the shrine for the people and very soon the shrine is empty. One night a shepherdess loses her sheeps in darkness. Ghodrat who is in love with the girl, holds a light all night till morning until all the sheeps come to shrine .The next morning Ghodrat leaves the village by train towards a place where he believes the Master of shrine is there.
