Heroic Struggle in Snow and Ice is a 1917 Austro-Hungarian propaganda newsreel film produced by Sascha-Film for the Imperial and Royal War Press Headquarters. The film is hand-colored and presented in two parts. It depicts the fighting on the Alpine Front between Italy and Austria-Hungary.

On the 23rd August 2004 The Great War Society undertook a charity march in full period uniform to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the opening moves of the Great War 1914-1918 Over the following five days our troops marched from Mons in Belgium to St. Quentin in France in remembrance of the soldiers of the British Expeditionary Force. The march was in honour of the men who fought the famous Fighting Retreat which stemmed the German advance and ultimately turned the tide of the war. A Letter from the Western Front(en)

In Belleau Wood, France, during the Great War, a soldier named John writes a letter home to his wife Sara in Milwaukee. He writes that her picture "helps me remember what it was like to be me." He tells her about sorties into No Man's Land, and that they have orders tonight to charge. Then, his letter becomes a report of that charge: toward an armed German soldier who doesn't fire, even when John reaches him and jumps into the trench beside him. What happens next brings silence and an end to the letter.

The only option left for Alisher, like so many of his generation, is to leave his new bride to try to make it big in Moscow. While the earnest love between the newlyweds has a sweetness stronger than their 3,500 mile divide, their relationship is now beset by challenges more dire than distance alone.

Jung-gu, the old original downtown of the city of Incheon, is the place where the first port was opened to foreign trades during the Japanese colonial period, and it is also the starting point of the construction of modern buildings, old Japanese houses(so-called enemy's house), railways, shipping, and airports. Currently, this area is also a place where the two concepts of development and reconstruction/regeneration are in sharp conflict. The film contains the story of those who pursue desirable regeneration, revolving around this neighborhood in Incheon.

Since 2013, Japan has implemented the free high school policy. However, only 10 Chongryon Korean high schools are excluded from this policy. The reason is that there are suspicions that the grant for free education will be misused by Chochongryon and others. Five of these schools protested about this measure and filed a claim for damages against the government in 2013. After four years of hearings, the first trial decision was made on July 19, 2017, starting with the case of Hiroshima Chongryon Korean high school.
