Falco in 1993 on the Danube Island in Vienna in front of 100,000 fans—an impressive concert has found its way onto DVD. Viewers can quickly understand why the "Falcon" became Austria's number one pop legend. With minimal effort and subtle theatrical gestures, he captivates the audience -- not only with his hits "Der Kommissar," "Jeanny," "Vienna Calling," and "Sound of Music." The atmosphere is perfect — despite, or perhaps because of, the thunderstorm that rolled in during the famous concert. The fact that lightning struck right next to the stage during "Nachtflug" and temporarily knocked out the sound system is, so to speak, a sign of the energetic atmosphere of that evening.

Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest. Live Blu-ray(ja)

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the "Kirby Star" series, the "Kirby Star 30th Anniversary Music Festival" was held at Tokyo Garden Theater on August 11th last year with two performances, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. A big band-like formation of 35 players performed various arrangements of songs from the "Kirby Dream Land" series. Includes all performances from the night performance on August 11, 2022 (12 songs including interludes and encores). In order to give you a more realistic feeling of the festival, we have specially edited it with a cut that is different from the free YouTube live distribution on the day of the performance.

The libretto gave Strauss the chance to revel in such contrasting musical forms as the Csárdás and the Viennese waltz. The style of the lied forms and ensembles is so original and finely balanced that the "Gypsy Baron" can truly be called a comic opera. Among the leading names of the stellar cast in this exuberant 1975 film of the operetta are Wolfgang Brendel, Ivan Rebroff, Janet Perry, Ellen Shade, Martha Mödl and, in the role that launched his career, Siegfried Jerusalem as Sándor Barinkay.
