Dramatik in i det sista i såväl grundserien som finalspelet. Elitserien i ishockeysäsongen 2003/04 bjöd som alltid på en härlig show. Årets upplaga bjöd även på mer dramatik än vanligt. HV71 erövrade till slut guldmedaljerna efter en högdramatisk finalserie mot Färjestad och lika dramatiskt var det när Brynäs klarade sig kvar i serien tack vare ett mål i slutminuten i den sista omgången. Timrå och Linköping svarade för bra insatser och visade att de blir att räkna med framöver och Södertälje kunde till slut summera ihop en säsong som började illa men som blev allt bättre.
