The last 14 months of George Jackson's life was an existence under subjective and objective conditions in California's industrial prison complex. George Jackson would spend 11 years in jail (7 of which were in solitary confinement) for a $70 gas station robbery crime in 1960. He was 18 years of age when the sentence of one year-to-life was handed down to him.

People is a film shot behind closed doors in a workshop/house on the outskirts of Paris and features a dozen characters. It is based on an interweaving of scenes of moaning and sex. The house is the characters' common space, but the question of ownership is distended, they don't all inhabit it in the same way. As the sequences progress, we don't find the same characters but the same interdependent relationships. Through the alternation between lament and sexuality, physical and verbal communication are put on the same level. The film then deconstructs, through its repetitive structure, our relational myths.

Ningsih intends to kill herself by jumping from the height of the flat but Yuli Gaga (Julia Perez) sees her, in surprise screaming out her name. Surprised herself, Ningsih slips off and falls down to her death. Four students Aldi (Vicky Nitinegoro), Justin (Christopher), Ragil (Dhawan Khai) and Amir (Bobby Maulana) rent Ningsih’s ex room with a good price. They find Ningsih’s personal belongings left there, and upon seeing her photographs they jeer over the fact that she’s not beautiful and has buck teeth. This offends Ningsih’s spirit and she goes to haunt them. She returns in the form of a pocong.

It turns out that the young man had been his cell mate for a year, and he tells her the story of how her husband died. She then remembers (in flashbacks) how she had helped her first husband rid himself of his sexual repression, and how she had promised him she would marry her current husband if she were widowed. It seems her doctor-husband was a man who could remain untouched through any political climate, and was much admired by her first husband. Now that her memories have been awakened by the young man's account, she ignores the repeated phone calls of her current husband and decides to rid this young man of his own sexual repressions.
