This Ivete Sangalo concert at Rio de Janeiro's legendary Maracanã Stadium, and the subsequent DVD/CD releases, constituted the year's main event in Brazilian pop music. Sangalo rose to fame with the axé band Banda Eva, and since 1999 has embarked on an unstoppable solo career, making her the undisputed queen of pop in Brazil in terms of sales and popularity, as well as gathering countless industry and society awards. Accordingly, Sangalo put on a show at the Maracanã that should leave no one envious of the megaconcerts offered in Rio by Madonna, Michael Jackson, and the Rolling Stones. "In the Line of Fire...Larger Than Live" is the debut video release from metal maestro's DragonForce. Shot during the band's Ultimate Stage headline show at 2014's Loud Park Festival in the Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, the band used over 10 camera angles to capture the raw energy of their show and instrumental dexterity for which they are rightly celebrated worldwide. The track listing features a mixture of new songs combined with the bands' classic foot stomping anthems and lightning fast shred-fests. "In the Line of Fire...Larger Than Live" also features special insight into the DragonForce "Maximum Overload World Tour" with off tour, behind the scenes, and backstage footage.

Karel Gott's Christmas concert in 2005 was recorded in a studio in Kavčí Hory, with an audience, but that did not detract from the excellent atmosphere. She was identified with the sinner in Luke's Gospel, who after her conversion became one of Jesus' closest companions. In the first part, Mary Magdalene decides whether to choose the path of worldly pleasures or to repent and devote her life to God. In the second part of the oratorio, we find ourselves in the house of the Pharisee, who doubts the sincerity of Magdalene's repentance...

Leos Janácek - Kát'a Kabanová(de)

Janáček's three-act opera Katya Kabanova, staged by Barrie Kosky and staged at the Felsenreitschule by Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša with an international cast of soloists, was performed on August 7 at the 2022 Salzburg Festival. The opera is based on the play The Storm by Aleksandr Ostrovsky. Set in a small Russian town, the story revolves around Káta, who is trapped in a loveless marriage to an abusive man named Boris. When she meets and falls in love with a young man named Vána Kudrjáš, she finally experiences happiness and passion. But their relationship is short-lived, as Boris finds out and forces Káta to confess her infidelity in front of the entire town. The opera explores themes of social conformity, oppression, and the consequences of forbidden love. Stage director Barrie Kosky creates an intimate but impressive setting in the magnificent Felsenreitschule.
