Parvis, the son of exiled Iranians, copes with life in his small hometown by indulging himself with pop culture, Grindr dates, and raves. After being caught shoplifting, he is sentenced to community service at a refugee shelter where he meets siblings Banafshe and Amon, who have fled Iran. As a romantic attraction between Parvis and Amon grows, the fragile relationship between the three is put to a test.

Al-Hob Walmal(ar)

The head of the (Zahlawi) family dies and leaves a will for his family living in Lebanon to distribute his wealth. His leftover wealth is estimated at one million liras. In it, the (Zahlawi) family recommends that the estate not be distributed except under the supervision of (Shoushou). After the estate is distributed to the heirs, their morals become corrupt and they indulge in vice.

Wall(en)

Between a man and his lover lies a wall, between the man and the country he loves lies another wall. Can a one-sided dialouge breaks the walls and expresses the man’s feelings and sentiments? Or does the lover or the country wants the wall to be broken in the first place? This short was inspired by Amy Len’s dance choreography “Wall” and colloborated with Loh Bok Lai. The dance was originally choreographed for a performance in Japan Dance Wave Fukuoka ‘06 - Asian Contemporary Dance Now and later made into an experimental video combining elements of an actor and monologue. The video footages were also used for the dance piece itself in KL.

The Crack: Inception(es)

Madrid, Spain, 1975; shortly after the end of the Franco dictatorship. Six months after the mysterious death of his lover, a prestigious tailor, a married woman visits the office of the young Germán Areta, a former police officer turned private detective, to request his professional services.

Hassan and Nayima(ar)

Hajj Metwally is keen to acquire money and land. His daughter Naima falls in love with Hassan Al-Maghnawati and he reciprocates her feelings. The two lovers meet repeatedly. Atwa, a relative of Metwally, aspires to marry her. Therefore, when Hassan proposes to her, her father rejects him. Naima runs away with Hassan to get married. Metwally and Hajj Abdel-Khaleq go to the town of Hassan, in order to retrieve Naima, harbors evil against his daughter and locks her in the house, and Hassan tries to retrieve her.
