The film also captures the beautiful, if unforgiving, frozen landscape of the Great White North, far removed from conventional civilization.

Betty, realizing the situation, finds one of her mother’s old gowns and helps transform her appearance closer to her girlish self. Lloyd is swept away with renewed love and both couples happily paired with the proper partner.

The story tells of the problems of growing up, the power that is needed for courageous actions, comradeship, love and affection that can connect generations.

Eero escapes with the help of a court judge but surrenders after his mother gets into trouble. At the courthouse, the priest admits that Vieremä Jaska confessed to the crime on his deathbed. The film has survived, but without subtitles.
