She later becomes the person of interest in the murder, being labelled by the authorities as "The Satin Girl". Dr. Richard Taunton (Norman Kerry) and becomes infatuated with her. After discovering that Lenore has taken pieces of jewelry from him, he uses a piece of evidence left behind to investigate the crimes himself.

Now with every eastern tie severed, he asks Anne to marry him. She accepts, but says they will wait until after the election.
