Life of a Mutt(sr)

Through seven scenes, the film follows the life and destinies of stray dogs from the margins of our society, leading us to reconsider our attitude towards them. Through the seven “wandering” characters that we follow at different ages, from birth to old age, we witness their dignified struggle for survival. At the cemetery, in an abandoned factory, in an asylum, in a landfill, in places full of sorrow, our heroes search for love and togetherness. By combining documentary material, animation and acting interpretation of the thoughts of our heroes, we get to know lives between disappointment and hope, quite similar to ours.

Jewel - Live At Humphrey's By The Bay(en)

Jewel broke on to the national scene in 1995, presenting a softer, more compassionate sound, which differed greatly from some of the other top female singers who were breaking at the same time, notably Fiona Apple and Alanis Morissette. Her debut Pieces of You sold millions, based on the strength of the singles "Who Will Save Your Soul" and "You Were Meant For Me". Spirit followed in 1998, featuring the smash hit "Hands", proving that Jewel was no one record wonder. On "Live At Humphrey's" Jewel mixes in rare gems such as "Rosy and Mick" and "Everything Breaks Sometime" with many of her hits. Shot in August 2001 in support of the This Way album, Jewel's first-ever live DVD showcases her folk rock style at its absolute finest.

George selected this show from 1986 from his more than 11 performances at Montreux. Included are 18 classics and hit tracks. Before he became a radio-friendly pop star specializing in smooth R&B, George Benson made his mark as a hard-swinging jazz guitarist in the tradition of his mentor and influence, Wes Montgomery. This concert film was hand-chosen by Benson as a personal favorite of his dozen or so appearances at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, delivering live renditions of classic hits from both phases of his career, including "Lady Love Me (One More Time)," "Turn Your Love Around," "In Your Eyes," and, of course, "On Broadway."

In 1986, Ross McElwee (Sherman's March) and Marilyn Levine were making a film about the 25th anniversary of the Berlin Wall, when the imposing structure was still very much intact as the world’s most visible symbol of hardline Communism and Cold War lore. They thought they were making a documentary on the community of tourists, soldiers, and West Berliners who lived in the seemingly eternal presence of the graffiti emblazoned eyesore. But in 1989, as the original film neared completion, the Wall came down, and McElwee and Levine returned to Berlin, this time to capture the radically different atmosphere of the reunified city.
