It is Don Catarino, an old beggar who lives off the mercy of the employees and is the one who warns them that a lost soul usually appears in that factory on stormy nights. He pleads with them to ignore her and not allow her to involve them in her troubles. As soon as he disappears, a woman asks them for help to shelter from the storm.
