Set in Nagoya, Japan in 2019, the story follows Mitsuyo, an elderly woman who receives a fraudulent call from someone posing as her daughter. Having been scammed before, she alerts the police, leading to the arrest of 14-year-old Kazuto, a receiver in the operation. Kazuto works for Daisuke and Toyama, who believe scamming the wealthy is a way to return "dead money" to society. When Toyama is arrested, Daisuke attends his trial to ensure silence.
