A crew of 35 people worked in three countries over a two year period to make the film, and an original score by Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson and sound design by Adrian Rhodes complete the picture.

Burman’s highly fantasized stop-motion claymation critiques the absurdity of integrating capitalism and humanity, which has altered the human experience into a measurement of one’s ability to mass produce and mass consume.

Coin is not about chasing wealth. It is about what happens when people are pushed so far down that they stop reaching altogether and only fight to keep what little remains. In a system where value circulates freely but dignity does not, innocence becomes the last uncontaminated force capable of interrupting the cycle.
