To mark the fiftieth anniversary of its premiere, it will return to the stage of the Takarazuka Grand Theater in 2024 for the first time in ten years. This story, a foundational work of shojo manga that continues to be loved by many people across ages and borders, is set in France during the raging revolution, depicting the forbidden love of two couples. The Takarazuka Revue has staged various versions of The Rose of Versailles over the years. In this version that focuses on Fersen, we present the splendid world of The Rose of Versailles in a glorious celebration of its fiftieth anniversary.

Holly Ashley is a freelance journalist who supplies "scoop" photos and gossip articles to tabloids and evening magazines. One night, a party is held at Studio 54 celebrating the release of rock star Z-BOY's new album. Holly gets an exclusive story on the up-and-coming actress Giselle Morgan, who is rumored to be Z-BOY's lover. But Z-BOY's agency interferes with the article being published. Musical by the Takarazuka Revue. In modern day France, an exhibition is being held at the Palace of Versailles of the "Necklace of Marie Antoinette". The necklace had been used in a fraud case that marked a chapter in French history and later went missing. It has been reproduced using real diamonds. Fujiko has sneaked into Versailles, as has the gang of Lupin, Goemon, and Jigen - all with the intention of getting their hands on the necklace, which is valued at over 3 billion yen in today's money. But they bump into Inspector Zenigata. Lupin is the one who manages to foil Zenigata and grab the necklace. Yet the instant he lays hands on it, everyone is enveloped in a mysterious light. When they regain consciousness, they notice they have gone through a time slip to 1785, before the French Revolution when Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were around.

The Count of Monte Cristo / Gran Cantante!!(ja)
Edmond Dantes, a young sailor from Marseille, is being dragged in chains to the Chateau d'If, a state prison. He protests his innocence, but the jailors laugh and torment him before locking him up in solitary confinement. A few short hours before, Dantes had returned to Marseille from a voyage at sea and been reunited with his fiancée, Mercedes. Her father, Pierre Morrel, promoted Dantes to captain as a wedding gift to the couple. Into the middle of this celebration came the soldiers to arrest Dantes. He is sure he has done nothing that is against the law, and promises Mercedes he will return soon. Then abruptly we realize that the story is being narrated by a bunch of high school kids, who are studying the book "The Count of Monte Cristo" in order to do a play. In their squabblings about dramatic interpretation, the kids summarize the more complicated parts of the story.
