A choir of tropical frogs performs infectious pop in delightfully unsettling animation from Costa Rican-Canadian artist Bianca Shonee Arroyo-Kreimes. Riffing on karaoke companion videos and the swipe-n-scroll conventions of handheld media, she infuses candy-coloured digital animation with the spectre of ecological collapse.

Mother and Milk(fi)

What happens when a baby is born? What if there is no milk? Or just a drop too much? An animated short film which describes the mental process of becoming a parent - in a scenery of a catastrophe film. When the baby is born the fresh mother has to give up the life she knew. A flood of breast milk covers everything - her home, work, friends, relationship and a good night sleep. The life she knew doesn’t exist any more. There’s just the mother and the baby - in an ocean of breast milk.

“Bilderbuch für Ernst Will” is an electronic rendering of a form of proto-televisual iconomania: the creation of haphazardly sourced private pictorial scrap books or 'bilderbuch'. Often intended for the surprise, delight and edification of grandchildren by grandparents, these books had the analogical potential to become flamboyant transmogrifigations of the detritus and sequestered oddments of the great age of print in the later half of the 19th century.
