The Bülbül family consists of Hazım Bey and his wife Asiye Hanım, their daughter Nevin, their son-in-law Ramazan, and their son Tosun. Hazım Bey retired after thirty years of civil service. Ramazan is caught between enduring his mother-in-law's sharp remarks, trying to fulfill his father-in-law's various requests while he stays home all day, and dealing with his brother-in-law Tosun.
