Pinocchio can himself fulfill Geppetto's wish of a real human son if he can prove himself to be a good soul. However, the road to becoming a real boy seems to never end, since his innocence continuously causes a problem, especially when the Evil Gypsy and his two goons want to exploit him. Not to mention, every time that he misbehaves or lies, his nose grows...

The Little Dolphins(el)

Set in the period between the two world wars in a seaside village in the bay of Amvrakikos. Two children, Petros (8 years old) and Anthoula (7 years old) spend their summer holidays. During a walk they discover in an isolated shack a boy who lives with his mother. He is rejected by the community because of tuberculosis. Petros and Anthoula become friends with the boy. They encounter the cruelty of the adults and they decide to resist.

Pinocchio(it)

The film was directed by Giuliano Cenci with assistance from his brother Renzo. During production, Carlo Collodis grandchildren Mario and Antonio Lorenzini were consulted. The subtle movements made by fidgeting children whilst speaking or under scrutiny were incorporated into Pinocchios movements, particularly when he lies to the Fairy with the Turquoise Hair over the fate of his gold coins. For the design of the Fairy, Italian portrayals of the Blessed Virgin Mary in art were used as starting points.

Avarissa, a witch so evil that she was banished to an underground kingdom, attempts to trick a human child into committing a despicable act so that she can switch places with him and escape.
