A Divorce of Convenience(xx)

Spanish coquette Tula Moliana finds herself encumbered with two husbands, and to get a divorce from the first, Senator Wakefield, she engages Jim Blake, the fiancé of Helen, the senator's daughter, to be her correspondent. Jim agrees to help her but finds himself entangled in a web of deceit and has difficulty in making excuses to Helen for the numerous adventures in which he becomes involved, especially when a jealous rival pursuing Tula threatens his life. Matters are cleared up when Helen discovers he has been victimized, and Tula accepts her first husband. This film is lost.

At age five he was instructed to bring a pail of beer to his father and drank some to prevent it spilling over, getting drunk for the first time. Headstrong Mavis Cole defying her grandfather runs away with the wealthy but caddish Herbert Whitman. Proving he’s no good Herbert plants a stolen necklace on Mavis and attempts to have her arrested when he comes under suspicion, so Mavis flees to a hunting lodge then entering into a marriage of convenience with Jimmy Ryder to hide her identity. Meanwhile, Herbert bribes ex-convict Steve La Marche to steal a jewel from Dorothy Grosscup but Jimmy captures the thief, though he claims innocence. Dorothy accuses Mavis of the theft, but she is cleared by Steve, resulting in Herbert's arrest.

New York City society girl Evelyn Whitney is determined to prove that she can make her own living on the Lower East Side. Having no luck with her first attempts she succeeds as cafe singer Mary Malone falling for former gang leader Larry Marshall along the way. Trouble comes when the jealous Stella attempts to stab Evelyn and is shot by Larry. Evelyn flees to her home and becomes seriously ill, but learning that Larry is on trial for murder, she rallies to testify on his behalf.

Young Elsie Duchanier, maid of the star dancer in the French Brunel's Follies, is deceived by a lascivious doctor into believing she has only one year to leave in his effort to seduce her. Separated from her true love American soldier Capt. Tom Kendrick when he is reassigned to the United States, she accepts Maurice Brunel's offer to make her the main attraction of his new Follies. She meets with enormous success, but Brunel demands she submit to his advances as the price he demands for making her a star which she refuses. Tom returns to France just in time to save her virtue and whisk her away.

Gangster boss Chuck Collins, despite his ruthlessness, is a basically decent fellow. Collins is plagued by a rival gang, led by deceptively boyish Curly, who has been stealing jewelry from the rich and famous. Collins tricks the other crooks into turning the gems over to him, intending to use them for his own profit. But sweet heroine Sunshine eventually persuades Collins and his cohorts to turn honest. Considered a lost film.

After the death of her brother, "Tommy" Carlton makes the acquaintance of a neighbor, Harold Graypon, who invites her to a party. Tommy, who is a bit of a hoyden, attends the party in overalls and shocks the guests. Tommy is later ejected from her home and takes refuge in a shack in the mountains, where she makes rustic furniture for a living. Despite the interference of Grace, Tommy and Harold finds happiness with each other.

School for Wives(en)

School for Wives is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Victor Halperin and starring Conway Tearle, Sigrid Holmquist, and Peggy Kelly. It provided an early role for the future star Brian Donlevy. Based on Leonard Merrick's 1907 melodramatic novel The House of Lynch, it was not well-received by critics.

When Rufus Asher suspects that Barbara Wier is plotting with his sister's husband, Edmund Hyde, he abducts Barbara and takes her to a lonely mountain retreat. Arrested, she is involved in a wreck which just might provide an escape for both Linda and Brian from their troubles.

Drifter Edwin Drake, estranged from his family, has a prophetic vision and gets his life back on track. Eventually he meets Sarah Holmes, an acolyte of the power of positive thinking, in the boardinghouse where both reside. Sarah happens to befriend Edwin’s mother and after Mrs. Drake shows her a picture of Edwin Sarah arranges for them to be reunited bringing happiness to all.

The Invisible Bond(en)

Seductress Leila Templeton lures Harleth Crossley into a supposed assignation at his wife Marcia’s dinner party making a fool of them both. Following other compromising situations and his declaration of needing “personal liberty” Marcia divorces him. Still enamored of Leila, he marries her, but she remains a selfish flirt and Otis Vale, whom Leila has driven insane with her teasing, abducts her. In the mad dash away their automobile tumbles over a cliff, killing them both. When Harleth learns that "Mrs. Crossey" has died, he imagines it to be Marcia, and rushes to her. The relief he shows convinces her that their "invisible bond" is intact, and they reconcile.
