Gerd Conradt's experimental documentary "Ein-Blick" from 1987 captures the rhythms of daily life along Elsenstraße's border in a time-lapse. Over the course of a day, a camera focuses on a house and watchtower within the border zone, snapping one image per second for twelve hours. What unfolds is a surreal ballet of reality, transforming into a slapstick grotesque, all set to the backdrop of evocative piano melodies.

The filmmakers want to record these individuals in «their roles as leaders within the society they represent.» So they follow their three protagonists through their working lives. All three are at a crucial stage in their careers: will they succeed in their respective projects? Taking a humorous perspective, navigating both hope and pessimism, the film moves from Italy to China on the heels of these contemporary entrepreneurs who are often destined to lead more through heredity than vocation.

Ivan Ladislav Galeta's first experimental film displays a narrative structure and a philosophic/mystical idea – we begin nowhere and we end in nothing, at the starting point. From a hidden position, the camera follows a man in a black coat who approaches passers-by asking directions without taking his hands out of his pockets. The passers lift their hands and point their fingers at the direction he uses to continue his way.
