Raffles was a 1977 television adaptation of the A. J. Raffles stories by Ernest William Hornung. The series was produced by Yorkshire Television and written by Philip Mackie. Haseena Mallik, is witty and romantic, leading by example. Adding an amusing twist, a male constable, Cheetah Chaturvedi, works there and is smitten with Santosh. Together, they tackle unique cases with sensitivity while infusing humor and drama into their daily policing. Pushpa and Karishma’s mother-in-law/daughter-in-law banter adds comedy, while ideological clashes between Haseena and Karishma fuel the drama. The show’s blend of eccentric cases and engaging characters makes for an entertaining and heartfelt story.

Hyuk-soo is somewhat a cliched Korean character. Good at fighting and smart, but chooses the wrong path (almost as if he's forced to be a jopok); has morals; is loyal; and most importantly, loves one woman only. Eun-hae's mom and Hyuk-soo's dad, both widowed for a long time, fall in love and decide to get married before Eun-hae's mom dies. While this is going on, Hyuk-soo and Eun-hae meet. Automatically they know they are in love, but since they become family, Hyuk-soo looks at her in a way an older brother should ... or does he?

Mifune Shinobu is a chef for a French restaurant. He learned French cooking at restaurants in the countryside of France more than 10 years ago. Shinobu doesn’t talk much and he is calm, but he has a warm heart and he is considerate of other people. He isn't interested in achieving success as a chef and he only cares about healing people with his food. He also has an excellent memory and remembers the smallest of details. Shinobu is also a great private detective, who solves customers' problems or worries.

African American Lives is a PBS television miniseries hosted by historian Henry Louis Gates, Jr., focusing on African American genealogical research. The family histories of prominent African Americans are explored using traditional genealogic techniques as well as genetic analysis. Gates has written an associated book, In Search of Our Roots: How 19 Extraordinary African Americans Reclaimed Their Past, which was published in early 2009.
