The story is set in Trivandrum and revolves around the life of Ratnamma and her family. It highlights the daily incidents and the love-hate relationship between two brothers-in-law, Kanakan and Cleatus. Most episodes focus on Cleatus getting into trouble due to his ill-conceived ideas, with Kanakan often coming to his rescue.

Book TV debuted on C-SPAN2 on September 12, 1998.
