This is a mini-drama edited for children from the NHK Drama Special , "Goodbye, Alma - the dog who got a red letter〜" which introduced the history of animals that suffered in the war, was broadcasted for four consecutive nights from March 13 to 16. A special course for children and dogs, conducted by the dog Kanta-sensei (voice: Seiji Miyane). The class introduces the legend of Kanta's ancestor Alma (voice: Ryunosuke Kamiki). One day, the dog Alma is given to an aspiring vet, Taichi Asahina (Ryo Katsuji), by Kenta (Seishiro Kato), who is no longer able to keep him due to family circumstances. He is captivated by Alma's excellence and raises him as a military dog. Then, Alma is called up by the army. The children shed tears and refuse to say goodbye. Taichi regrets his decision and worries. One month after Alma goes to the war, Taichi decides to go to Manchuria where Alma is as a military dog trainer. What awaits him there is a reality beyond his imagination...

This drama follows the staff of an Italian restaurant and their everyday struggles. “Roccabianca” is a famous and popular Italian restaurant, but their head chef and owner Tatsumi suddenly collapses and the restaurant loses its unique flavor. The number of customers rapidly declines, but the owner’s daughter and deputy manager Saori happens to find another chef named Ezaki through an online job market who learned cooking at the same place her father did. Ezaki becomes the new head chef of this restaurant and while nobody can deny that he is a gifted chef, it’s his extreme rationalism that doesn’t exactly go well with the restaurants attempt to save its traditional flavor.

Its characters and mecha were designed by Mamoru Nagano, who would later go on to create The Five Star Stories. Heavy Metal L-Gaim takes place in the Pentagona System, a solar system made up of five planets. Oldna Poseidal, the legendary emperor from the planet Gastogal leads his 24 Temple Knights from planet to planet until all have fallen under his control. His final victory is on the planet Mizum in 3975 when he defeats Kamon Walha V, ruler of the Yaman Clan. Kamon hides his heir, Kamon Myroad on the planet Mizum with the legendary white mecha, L-Gaim. Fifteen years later, now grown up and known as Daba Myroad, he leads a rebellion to free the planets of Pentagona from Poseidal's grasp.
